I learned concrete working beside my dad on driveways, patios and slabs, and in 2021 I started Precision Hayward Concrete here in Hayward. Most of what he taught me was about the parts nobody sees once the pour is done, like the ground the slab sits on, the steel inside it and where the water goes when it rains. Get those right and a driveway holds up for years. Skip them and it settles, cracks where nobody planned or sends water back toward the house.

Before the truck comes, we dig out and pack the subgrade, which is the dirt your slab sits on. We also set the slope so water runs away from the house, and we plan the control joints, the cuts that give concrete a place to crack where we choose. Nobody sees that work once the pour is done, and it's the work that decides how your slab holds up.

I come out to look at the job myself, and our crew does the prep, the pour and the finish with me running the work. What we talk about in your driveway is what gets built, with no handoff to someone who wasn't there.
Straight answers about cracking
Concrete shrinks as it cures, so some cracking is normal, and I'll tell you that before you sign rather than after. We'll also tell you plainly what drives your price, so nothing about the job is a surprise.
